Glass Christmas Ornaments
Various Beautiful Seasonal Glass German Christmas Ornaments!
German Christmas Decorations - were once very simple. In the high middle ages ornaments were made, generally, of food. These edible ornaments were usually never wasted, so they served both as decor and dessert. In the late 1500's, glass works increased in popularity due to Hans Greiner, who made the first glass baubles in Lauscha, Germany. His decorations grew very quickly in popularity, including his garlands of glass beads, and tin figurines. Eventually, he was producing glass figurines and had a staff of very highly skilled glass artisans who used clay molds. The glass produced in Lauscha, Germany became world renowned for outstanding quality which placed it on the map as one of the largest glass exporters up until WWII.
